A few weeks back Fujifilm announced another new entry / mid-level camera, the Fujifilm X-T100.

I've been loaned a pre-release copy for a week or so and in the video below you'll see my initial thoughts and where I think this camera will sing.

I don't need a new stills camera, I have a LOT of cameras right now. But what I've been waiting for and hoping for, for a long time, is a good vlogging solution and I genuinely believe that the X-T100 is the camera for me in that respect.

It's small, it's light, it can use my existing XF lenses and......and...unlike the Fuji X-H1, it has a fully articulating screen. Which is really the thing I'm excited about.

So far, I really like the Fujifilm X-T100. It's really well built and whilst the buttons and dials take a bit of getting used to, the touch interface and menu structure is brilliant - even for someone like me that doesn't usually like touch screens.

I feel Fujifilm have got a lot right with the Fujifilm X-T100 and I think it will be a great camera for those that want to get into the Fujifilm ecosystem but don't necessarily want to stretch to the X-T20 or X-E3.

I think a lot of existing Fujifilm users will be interested in the Fujifilm X-T100 as it's probably the first serious non-x-trans sensor camera in the range.

It is aimed squarely at the entry to the mid-level market and isn't a camera that will likely be used in a professional capacity.

To that end, it has some neat features that are very easy to use and I particularly think the connectivity has been really well thought out with the Fujifilm X-T100.

I love the syncing time with phones option and so much want this feature in all new cameras or perhaps, even, in a firmware update.

For me though, I'm really interested in it as a vlogging camera. The lack of 4K (well, meaningful 4K for filming) is not a concern for me as I outline in the film above.

The Fujifilm X-T100 is actually a type of camera I've been hoping for for some time and I'm pretty sure I'll end up adding it to my ever bulging kit bag. I'm going to have to sell some stuff soon....
