The Potter of Sorbas
I recently returned from my annual five-week trip to Andalusia, Spain. One of the places I always visit is the fantastic pottery studio of Alfarería Juan Simón.
Sorbas, also known as Cuenca la Chica, is an imposing village. Sorbas is located on a small plateau over the Río Aguas, and its white houses are seemingly suspended over the ravine.
The pottery studio is at the bottom of the beutiful narrow winding streets. Unfortunately, this year, I spent quite a portion of my trip on a crutch as I damaged my knee, and this manifested itself as me only taking my mobile phone with me (an OPPO X5) when out and about.
Often, when I visit this studio, the pottery wheel is empty, so I was delighted to see the leading man himself quietly getting on with some work as I entered.
So, not too much to share - but I found these images of him very charming.
If you are ever in Sorbas, visit - it's a wonderfully magical place.
