Bride Arrives at Snøhetta Viewpoint
Why I Love This Wedding Photo
This post is part of my Why I Love this Wedding Picture series, where I describe why I, as the photographer, love a particular image or series of photographs.
From a Wedding at Snøhetta Viewpoint in Norway.
I’m taking you back to October 2022 for this edition of Why I Love This Wedding Photograph.
This wedding was one of several I have photographed in beautiful Norway over my sixteen-plus years as a wedding photographer.
The venue was the incredible Snøhetta Viewpoint.
The Snøhetta Viewpoint, nestled in Norway's Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park, offers an unparalleled and tranquil view of the encompassing mountains and valleys. Crafted by the renowned architectural firm Snøhetta, this viewpoint boasts a sleek, minimalist design that harmoniously integrates with the natural environment.
I’ve chosen this photograph specifically because it encompasses the wedding wonderfully. Amy, along with all the guests and myself, made the 45-minute hike up the mountain path to the viewpoint for the ceremony.
As a Documentary Wedding Photographer, this is a perfect opportunity for me to connect the Who’s, Why and Where that I seek to answer in my photography.
Amy is making the final steps to greet her waiting groom and guests in her wedding dress and hiking boots with her bouquet and a wonderful smile (despite that 45-minute hike!).
Behind her is the rolling hills of the Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park and the magnificent brooding sky.
I Love this Wedding Photo, and I hope you do too.
